Eateries named for Restaurant Week
The second annual Knoxville Restaurant Week serves up delicious cuisine at great prices Feb. 26-March 2 at a variety of local restaurants. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.  For one week, select restaurants will offer a special three-course dinner at a fixed price of either $25 or $35 (excluding tip, taxes and gratuity), and $5 of every meal will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.Restaurants offering $25 meals include Abuelo's, Cocoa Moon Fusion Grill, Connors Steak & Seafood, Mahogany's at the Crowne Plaza, Nama Sushi Bar, Naples Italian Restaurant, Peerless Restaurant, Sequoyah Grille, Stir Fry Cafe, The Bistro at the Bijou, The Chop House, and The Melting Pot.  Restaurants offering $35 meals include 31 Bistro, Bistro By The Tracks, Brazeiros Churrascaria, Cafe 4, Chez Liberty, Echo Bistro & Wine Bar, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Hilton Knoxville – Marty's Bistro, Holiday Inn World's Fair Park – Hudson's Lounge, Latitude 35, Le Parigo, Naples Italian Restaurant, Northshore Brasserie, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Seasons Cafe and The Orangery.  For more information, including menus, go to www.knoxvillerestaurant week.com.

The Great Cake Bake is set for March 31st!  The Knox County Public Library is hosting its 3rd annual Great Cake Bake from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Tennessee Terrace at Neyland Stadium, on the campus of the University of Tennessee.  More than 150 cakes will be on display in four categories — junior, all occasion, wedding and cupcakes.  Tickets are $5, with children 10 and under admitted free. Biscuit Festival hosts food seminar
The Southern Food Writing Conference, sponsored by the International Biscuit Festival, will be May 17-18.  The event is for food enthusiasts, food writers, bloggers or anyone who wants to know more about the culinary South.  Cost is $295 for the two-day event which includes dinner at Blackberry Farm.
